The website shows what is finished. The shop shows the rest: bolts waiting to be cut, frames waiting to be covered, and the machine it all happens on. If you are within driving distance, coming in is a better way to buy soft furnishings than any photograph.

Where and when

We are at 66 Gaskill Street, Canowindra, in Central West New South Wales. Open Tuesday to Friday from ten until four, and Saturday from ten until two. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Three things worth bringing

  • Your lamp base. Sizing a shade from a photograph is guesswork. Bring the base and we will hold shades against it until one is obviously right, which takes about four minutes and saves a return parcel.

  • A cushion you already own. The quickest way to match a size or decide whether a print will fight with what is on the sofa already.

  • Fabric with a story. Curtains from a family house, a wedding dress, a length someone kept for a project. We can tell you in person whether there is enough sound cloth in it, which is the question that decides everything else.

Buying online, collecting here

If you live nearby there is no need to pay for postage. Choose the collect option at checkout and the piece waits here for you, which also means you see it before you commit to it.

What you will see being made

The cushions and shades are made here. Vintage covers cut so the print lands in the middle rather than wherever the cloth falls, and lampshades rolled onto their frames by hand. Alongside them the shop carries homewares we have chosen rather than made, which is worth knowing before you drive out for something specific. If the machine is running when you come in, it is one of ours being finished.

Before you drive, the full list of pieces shows what is on the shelf today, and the contact page has the address, the opening hours and the email if you want to check something is still here. If you are coming about a commission, the custom order page explains how those run.
